Shimoda Yamatokan is in a fantastic location, right in front of Tatadohama Beach. We stayed here to relax on the beach, visit the Shimoda Aquarium, and explore Ryugu Sea Cave.

Shimoda Onsen features clear, simple hot spring water. As shown in the photos, you can enjoy breathtaking views of Tatadohama Beach from both the indoor and outdoor baths. The outdoor bath, in particular, offers a wide-open view of the vast ocean, making for an incredible bathing experience.

The dinner was a feast of Izu’s fresh seafood, and it was absolutely fantastic.

Tatadohama Beach, located right in front of the inn, is perfect for a leisurely time, but there are also other great spots nearby. You can try sand skiing at Yumigahama Beach or walk along the rugged trails of Cape Irozaki to enjoy the dramatic scenery. Highly recommended for both relaxation and adventure!
