Tenryo is a public bath located in Ichirino Onsen, we stopped by when we visited the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum. It seemed like quite a large facility, but since the Hakusan Super Forest Road was not yet open at that time, the place was quiet with few visitors. The hot spring comes from Iwama Onsen, and it’s a colorless, transparent chloride and bicarbonate spring that warms you up nicely. Even though it was May, it was still chilly with some snow remaining, so the warm bath was a relief.
By the way, the Iwama Onsen, which is the source of the spring here, has a “Funsen Tower,” where you can see hot spring water erupting from a white tower formed by the accumulation of mineral deposits. If I were alone, I definitely would have gone to see it! 🙂

In the Hakusan area, you can also enjoy local specialties like firm tofu, river fish, and my favorite Tochimochi (chestnut rice cakes), so both the food and the hot spring experience were great. Next time, I’d like to visit in the summer after the Hakusan Super Forest Road opens.
