[Website] The Windsor Hotel Toya Resort & Spa

The lobby at The Windsor Hotel offers a breathtaking view of Lake Toya below, and it had always been a place I wanted to stay at. On this summer vacation to Hokkaido, I finally had the chance. I booked a lake-side room, and the view from there was just as amazing as the one from the lobby. Compared to the crowded lobby, the hotel’s pool was almost empty, so I had it all to myself and was quite satisfied.
But setting aside the hotel introduction…

The Windsor Hotel has a lovely hot spring sourced from Toya Onsen. It’s a bit of a walk from the room, but once you pass through a stone path with the relaxing scent of incense in the air, you reach the hot spring called “Yamasen.”
The bath is made of wood, offering a soft, pleasant feeling. The water is colorless and transparent. While it doesn’t have a particularly strong mineral profile, the smooth texture of the water makes it easy to relax and enjoy. It’s a very comfortable and soothing experience.
