[Webpage] Kanzanji Onsen Sago Royal Hotel
After enjoying fruit picking at Hamamatsu Fruit Park Tokinosumika, we decided to stop by a hot spring for a quick soak. We chose Kanzanji Onsen Sago Royal Hotel, a large-scale hotel not typically my go-to for day-use onsen, but it looked promising during a quick search.

The open-air bath on the rooftop boasts an incredible view right from the dressing area, instantly boosting my excitement. Stepping outside, the breathtaking panorama of Lake Hamana spread below made the location truly special. However, today was incredibly hot – nearly 40°C – with no shade at all. The extreme heat combined with high bathwater temperatures made it impossible to relax and enjoy the soak.
The onsen water is a highly saline chloride spring, known for its health benefits. According to Kanzanji Onsen’s website (Japanese), the salt concentration ranks third among Japan’s health-promoting springs, following Arima Onsen and Furofushi Onsen at Ogonsaki. I imagine this bath would be perfect in winter, with clear skies and a setting sun, offering a cozy and tranquil experience.

At the park, we picked blueberries and small watermelons, but the scorching heat cut our visit short. Despite the weather, the harvested blueberries and watermelons were sweet and delicious, making the effort worthwhile.
